Winterday is a festival made up to go with the holiday season. It is not just to celebrate Christmas, despite how it may seem.
Easter is a Christian holiday, as well as a Pagan celebration (what of, I don't know). Seeing how there are no other holidays around that time, doing an even would not make sense. As well, since there was no easter even last year, I doubt that they are going to disrupt the "environment" to add a holiday.

CY: "Pagan" religions of all stripes historically celebrated the solstices and equinoxes, so "Easter" in the original sense was simply a celebration of the spring equinox and the beginning of the growing season (hence the bunnies as symbols of fertility and new life). As with most such millenias-old celebrations when Christianity came along one of the ways it "sold" itself to new converts was by letting them keep the old celebrations in a new form.
Anyway, as you say there's no equivalent secular holiday to Easter (whereas New Years is primarily secular and even Christmas, being a national holiday, is a secular twin of an identically named religious holiday at this point) it wouldn't be terribyl appropriate to include an in-game celebration thereof.

no too much religion in it..........there would be little way to celebrate without bringing that into picture....look at wintersday, they couldent even stop thierselves from putting relig. things in there..........it would never work.

A Spring event might be cool, but it doesn't really tie into the tradition established so far. Besides, Not everybody is celebrating a return to warm weather. Just ask your brethren in the southern hemisphere how the weather is turning...

and what about a chinese new year on factions ?
look, we celebrated wintersday on two games but not on factions...
and halloween too !
so if devs want to 'copy' prophecy and nightfall with two major events (halloween and wintersday), they could do two majors event on factions:
dragon festival and chinese new year

Passover is also celebrated around easter.
I don't think they'll have one, and the closest we'll see to something like that is the dragon festival, but I would like to see one.

i would like to see more in factions. the devs seem to think of it as the ugly step child of the GW games.

Where as I agree that easter is primarily a religious event to coincide with Christs death and reserection....
...you could say the same about Christmas *coughwintersday*. But Christmas like most western religious events has been corrupted and made to mean something else.
Its all about chocolate eggs and presents now. None christian religions celebrate both events purely because its cultural to the western world. So I dont see why Anet should have any issues about doing a mock-up of Easter as they do Christmas.
It is a Christian event, so I cant see why an American games computer company should have issues with it. They just need to change the name as they do Christmas and Hallowean.
There is no reason not do it, except maybe a lack of knowing how in terms of theme and decoration.

last year i hear they said that they will be more focused on release of factions then Easter event. IO hope this year they can make Easter event and be focused on release of Utopia.
Cause then there willl be 4 events in game...for spring (easter),summer (dragon festival), autumn (halloween), winter (wintersday)
so we need 4th event....
ANET do something

Wintersday corresponds to Norway's Yule
In Spain we DO have holidays in that time. There is a Halloween day, and there is no halloween holidays.
There was also de Tengy Day and the Dragon days... which festivities do they corrspond to?
Nah... there is no need for a real festivity or reason reason to add an event.
Just adding them if possible is good.
